For The World To See

Tuesday, ‎March ‎21, ‎2023

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.—Acts 20:24

Memory of the Month: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Today's reading: JOSHUA 7-9 LUKE 1:21-38

For the World To See

Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might;

11...the race is not to the swift and the battle is not to the warriors, and neither is bread to the wise nor wealth to the discerning nor favor to men of ability; for time and chance overtake them all.

We hear the question over and over in our lives. 'Do you believe in fate?'

If you look up the word 'fate' in a Bibile concordance, you will find that the word is used almost always in the negative.

Polls tell us that 52% of Americans believe in fate. 25% believe in a daily horoscope. One astrological society says we 'believe' only in things that do not exist-that astrology is not a question of belief because it is as real as your nose.

Proverbs 14:12

There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.

To the Christian believer, God is real. Our entire belief system is built on a real God. The world can call it what it wants-but unless Jesus is confessed as Lord-unless they believe God has raised Him from the dead-the end of all else is death.

Most will only believe what they see.

Jesus said, "19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”(Matthew 28)

'Teach them to observe'(some translations say 'obey')...

If we obey and love the way God wants us to, the world will observe what we teach with our lives. Yes, the spoken words are important but our obedience must be seen...

The fastest runner will get old and slow; the greatest warrior will retire; you cannot eat wisdom; popularity does not pay the bills-

In God's kingdom, in His family, we are to do whatever it is with all we have for Him-do-love for the world to see.

Love, with all our hearts, for the world to see-and let the Holy Spirit do the rest.

...because He loves us...

Holy Father in Heaven,

Keep me focused on obedience to what You have written in my heart that the world around me can see Your love in my actions.

Gracious and merciful God

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
