Expect Freedom

Thursday, January 9, 2025

Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. Build my trust. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name...

Verse of the Day: Matthew 6:19-21

19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Memory verse: Psalm 139:23–24 (ESV)

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24 And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

Today's reading: Genesis 23-24 Matthew 7

Expect Freedom

Every time we hear the word 'truth', we should hear the name Jesus. He said it Himself.

"I am the way, the truth, and the life and no one can come to the Father except through me." John 14:6

He also said,“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free."Luke 4:18.

As we read the Holy scripture, the Holy Spirit will take His living word and make us more aware, word by word, of the rich freedom that is ours in Christ Jesus.

Truth, that is Christ Himself, sets us free from the oppressive spirits and pressures of this day to day life.

I believe that before we read, we should acknowledge the Holy Spirit and ask Him to open our hearts and minds to the word we are about to read. God will use this prayerful attitude to guard our hearts and minds.

Philippians 4:7 ►"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

As we read God's word, we should expect freedom from fear and freedom from any oppression because God delivers this freedom in Christ Jesus-in the Truth.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

May I hallow Your name with my whole heart. May I realize Your kingdom and obey You. Give me today's bread for Your work. Forgive me for laziness. Lead me away from neagative thinking.

Lord and Master of all,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
