Enduring Hope

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:   And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.—Hebrews 9:27

Memory verse: Romans 8:32 ►He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Today's reading: EXODUS 23-24 MATTHEW 20:1-16

Enduring Hope

Luke 22:31–32 (ESV)

31 “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, 32 but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”

Simon Peter denied Christ(Matthew 29:65-79), Jesus knew that he would go through this but did not walk away from Peter. Jesus never walks away from us. He never leaves us. It is we who walk away.

I have done it and you have done it. It may be some seemingly insignificant sin, but any sin means we have turned our backs on Jesus.

When Jesus saved your soul-when you originally turned to Jesus, He knew about all our turnings and he knew He would call us back.

Lamentations 5:21 (ESV)

21  Restore us to yourself, O Lord, that we may be restored!

Renew our days as of old—

God calls us to be restored-so we can be restored-He calls us to return so we can return.

He knows everything we will do wrong and He has always known it.

His divine and perfect love demands that He loves us despite His knowing of all our future sins. Not only that, His love demands that we return-calls us back and when we return-not 'if we return' but when

His perfect heart forgives and restores us and tells us,

"Use what you have learned to help the bride of Christ"(strengthen your brothers).

What a God we serve to know us so completely and look past our sin to what He knows we will be!

God knows what He will make of you. Live with great anticipation and thanksgiving!

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for taking You for granted. I am excited about what You are making of me.

Patient and blessed, Father,

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
