Deeply...

Good morning, Lord
Verse of the Day: Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.
Memory of the Month: Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Today's reading: 2 KINGS 13-14 JOHN 2
Deeply...
Jesus went to a wedding and turned water into wine. This was His first miracle in Cana. He went to Capernaum and on to Jerusalem where He drove the money changers out of the Temple. Then, the Temple leaders started after Him. They requested a miracle so Jesus could 'prove He had the right to do these things'.
The people believed because of the miracles. One writer says the people were 'easily moved just because they are not deeply moved.'
These were 'surface' believers. They believed on the basis of sight-sensory stimulation. It is recorded later by John that Jesus said,
"Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own." John 7:17
The lasting, growing belief of any one person is not based on sight but on seeking. We choose to do...and in doing so will find our God faithful.
Being saved is our placing our faith in His salvation-in Him-not demanding proof. Being moved deeply is doing His will and experiencing His faithfulness.
This faith is the real business of real life. Real life moves with God.
Choose and find.
Matthew 7:7 ►
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
...because He loves us...
Holy God, Father in Heaven,
Increase my desire to know You as deeply as I can day by day, minute to minute so that my life will bring You good pleasure and glory and my belief will deepen.
Great God of power and glory!
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
