Conscious Memory

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:   “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, ‘My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’” Psalm 91:1-2

Memory verse: Psalm 90:14

14 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Today's reading: JOB 22-24 ACTS 11

Conscious, Current Memory

We see things throughout our days that remind us of things past, good and bad. When we lose someone we love, we tend to remember only the good. When we see someone going through hard things, we may recall something similar in our past.

God offers us a way to recall with strength and peace in faith. His written word is living and moving if we are living in it-living in the living word.

How can we live in His Living Word? John 1:1, 14

1"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

14  "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."

If we would always remember that Jesus is the "Living Word" and the Holy Spirit breathes the current life and power of Christ into the written word when we read it-when we hear it-or when we repeat it from memory...

As we are living day to day and are out in the world and are not able to listen to God's word or are not in a spot where we are able to read the word, bringing up verses from memory is our source.

If this is so obvious, then why do we not utilize this truth in our current consciousness? The rivers of living water never cease.

John 7:38 – “Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water'”

The Holy Spirit is never away from us. Our minds are away from Him. You may know only John 3:16 but if you bring it up and go over it word for word, the Holy Spirit empowers every thought and you are instantly conscious of our Divine and Holy God. The current of God's living power runs freely through you-right there in the store or in traffic or in the garden or wherever.

Yes, it is that simple and it is that amazing all at the same time-God's living power in our simple, current conscious thought-just because we embrace His living word.

You may use the 'bad memory' excuse but you can remember more than you think if you practice remembering-actually work at it-even a little...

God will always be present in power, grace, and love when we honor His word.

Choose to be currently conscious of God.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Absolutely present and Holy God of Heaven and earth, bring consciousness of Your heavenly kingdom in my heart as I seek Your daily bread remembering Your Living Word. Forgive me for using excuses for not remembering. Lead me away from an unconscious mind.

Your rod and staff comfort me,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
