Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, Colossians 3:12 ESV

Memory of the Month: 2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Today's reading: DEUTERONOMY 28-29 MARK 14:54-72

Therefore, Choose

From our verse of the day:

God chose us. He first chose the Jews and then through Christ we are co-heirs with Christ.

Romans 8:17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

As God's children, we should honor our Heavenly Father in taking on His behavior as much as we know it. We should know him as well as possible.

Philippians 3:10 I want to know Christ--yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,

To give our hearts and minds-the very way we think and feel deeply in our most inner thoughts should be the cry of our hearts.

We are holy loved. This divine reality cannot be understood this side of understanding the very mind of God. For this reason we must study and then study more the guide to the mind of our God-His divine word-the Holy Scripture.

We are dearly loved. God loves us on our level as well as the divine-dearly. What does that mean?

His love for us is passionate-to the point of dying for...us.

Because of the divine and holy and dear way in which God loves us, and because God has chosen us and has chosen to love us and give His son for us, we must choose... to love Him.

We must choose to put on the differing fabrics of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience but these not of ourselves but of His divine nature.

To really know His nature is to put these attributes on and this is a choice we have to make--that we must make. These will not come naturally-at first-but in time...

Romans 13:14 ►Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

Choose...choose to put in the work...relentlessly

...because He loves us...

Lord God, Father in Heaven, Sovereign God,

I choose to take up my cross and follow You; I choose to take up compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience from Your endless nature but depend on You, Holy Spirit, to lead me in each one. Forgive me my fears and laziness. Have mercy on me.

Great God of Knowledge!

In the name of Jesus Christ,

Amen
