Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Joshua 1:9
9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Verse of the day- 1 Corinthians 15:56,57 “The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. “
Today’s reading: 2 Samuel 9-11 Luke 15:11-32
God’s Touch
1 Samuel 10:26 26 Saul also went to his home in Gibeah, accompanied by valiant men whose hearts God had touched.
This verse should leave us with a full feeling and wanting more because we know the ‘touch of God’. Saul’s men had not just heard and seen the things God did around Saul’s anointing as King. They had not just been seen by others-they had been seen by God and God, Himself, touched their hearts.
When is the last time I can truly say that God touched my heart? If I have to think about it for long, then it has been too long that I have been ‘out of touch ‘with God.
God waits, patiently, for me to humble myself and take up my cross and follow him so He can in great love touch my heart.
Micah 6:8 says, “8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
To walk humbly before God means that we fully admit our sinfulness while at the same time we are fully aware of His mercy towards us and we love how God’s mercy keeps us washed clean in Christ. So, we live justly-we do or live the right thing. The right thing is walking humbly as we joyfully live in and love His mercy.
Humble yourself, right now before God. Confess whatever it is. Let God touch your heart and let your testimony be, “God has touched my heart”.
Because God loves you more than you can imagine, He will do it...
Father in Heaven,
I want Your touch of my heart to be the thrill of my life. I want this to show in my loving obedience. Give me today what You say I need. Forgive me for letting my sin ruin my connection with You. Lead me away from mindless and heartless existence.
Kind and merciful God,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
