Be Found Faithful

Good Morning, Lord
Verse of the Day: But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.—James 1:22
Memory of the month: Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
Today's reading: 1 CHRONICLES 4-6 JOHN 6:1-21
Be Found Faithful
The disciples of Christ Jesus had come such a long way in such a short period of time. Fisherman had walked away from family and livelihood to follow Jesus. Luke was a primitive doctor, Matthew, a hated tax man and the list goes on.
Jesus was teaching in the synagogue at Capernaum and made some startling statements, John 6:45-71.
Please read this passage and know these things:
1.) Christ was teaching us all that we must go the whole distance.
2.) He wants us to be completely involved in His kingdom of love.
3.) Jesus wants us to be willing to do whatever He calls us to do anytime.
Verse 66: From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.
67 “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.
68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”
Peter tells us that when we believe we know. They had seen the miracles, signs and wonders.
But what they had seen that is not recorded is the day to day, step by step life with Jesus. They had walked mile after mile with Jesus from town to town. They had slept out in the open a lot of the time and had gone without food and become so hungry that they pulled grain on at least one Sabbath and rubbed it in their hands to eat.(Luke 6:1-19)
They had all the human reactions to all this that any of us could have had. Questions like:"What drives this man to keep going?"
"How can he touch some of the people He touches?"
"How does He love so much?"
"I am tired, why can't we rest?"
"How can He walk into the face of death?"
Mile after mile and question after question the disciples followed and saw and witnessed. They saw in Jesus an unwavering commitment to the Kingdom of His father and an untiring, endless love for them and all He met.
They believed and knew that Jesus was the real Messiah. They knew they had been called and that God's hand was on their lives.
You know when God's hand is on your life. We all know when God's hand is on our individual lives.
Are we afraid? Are we glad? Do we glory in it or do we hide from it-ignore it-deny it?
Can you make the statement, "We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God”?
Relax and ask God to forgive you your weaknesses. His love is never ending and unconditional and will always answer this prayer,
"Oh Lord, have mercy on me a sinner."
Life is hard but it does not have to be as hard as we make it. Rest in His peace and seek Him and His righteousness. The enemy will never stop pounding us with trials and doubt. The Lord will never stop empowering the faithful.
2 Timothy 2: 11-13 “This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him. If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.”
1 Corinthians 4:2 “Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.”
Be faithful...
...because He loves us...
Our Father in Heaven,
Forgive me my fear and give me courage. Help my faith grow and help me say with confidence "I have come to believe and to know that I am Yours and You are the King of creation.
Merciful and sweet Lord of all
In the name of Jesus,
Amen
