Ask Yourself...

Tuesday, March 19, 2024

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:    O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory.—Psalm 63:1-2

Memory verse: Romans 8:32 ►He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Today's reading: JOSHUA 4-6 LUKE 1:1-20

Ask Yourself...

  One writer asks this question:

"Can you think of anything (I mean anything) that is more comforting and assuring and delighting than that the Lord in his majesty is for you?"

How many of us are taken aback by that question? Many, I think.

Isaiah 33:21  But there the Lord in majesty will be for us a place of broad rivers and streams, where no galley with oars can go, nor majestic ship can pass.

How about now?

“No eye has seen a God besides you, who acts for those who wait for him” (Isaiah 64:4).

How does the question sound now?

How about after this:

“If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).

If this makes you feel uncertain, it is for lack of seeking(Matthew 6:33-"Seek first the kingdom of God...") Lack of complete dependence on God will leave us shallow in answering these all-encompassing questions.

It does not have to be that way at all-ever-if we daily start to seek Him with our whole hearts and it is never too late. When we get lax, then we must confess and get back at it. God is not an "off at a distance" God and He does not want you to be off at a distance. You are the one He sent His Son, Christ Jesus, to die for. Nothing is too bad that it is bigger than God's desire to see you conscious of His love for you every minute.God is waiting for you to confess and get close to Him-that is all that matters.

The Lord loves you. The Lord is for you.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for hiding and running from Your reality. Teach me how precious it is to be close to You.

Loving and faithful God,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
