As It Is In Heaven

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: 2 Peter 3:10-11

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,

Memory of the Month: Psalm 33:4

4 For the word of the Lord is right and true;

he is faithful in all he does.

Today's reading: EZEKIEL 37-39 2 PETER 2

As It Is In Heaven

The model prayer, or what we call the 'Lord's Prayer', has a curious line in it. Have you ever wondered what it means when it says:

"Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven"? I take this to mean that the Lord wants us to ask for His help in living in obedience as do the Heavenly beings. There is no sin in Heaven.

Peter is teaching about men of dark sin who try to get everyone else to live in sin as they do in 2 Peter 2:11:

9 ...And the Lord will hold evil people to punish them on the day of judgment. 10 That punishment is for those who are always doing the evil that their sinful selves want to do. It is for those who hate the Lord’s authority.

These false teachers do whatever they want, and they are so proud of themselves. They are not afraid even to say bad things against the glorious ones. 11 The angels are much stronger and more powerful than these beings. But even the angels don’t accuse them and say bad things about them to the Lord.

The angels do not pass judgement. They do not judge. We are to endeavor to live as those in Heaven live. We are not to judge.

As we pray for God to 'forgive us...as we forgive...', should we also pray for God to 'keep us from judging folks...'?

I cannot answer for you. I only know that it is really hard to not judge those in the world that think I am crazy for my beliefs. But if I judge them, won't that make me just like them?

The point is: we know our own sin-always make it a matter of prayer. Jesus was without sin-the angels do not sin-God wants us to be truthful with Him as well as ourselves and take the truthful view of our actions and thoughts.

King David said, "Search me and know my heart...",Psalm 139:23, 24

We need to search our own hearts before God-

--just get it done---

As it is in Heaven...

..because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for trying to get away with whatever it is...make me truthful-desiring truth-desiring Your heart.

Tender and merciful, loving God...

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
