Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:   2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Memory verse: Romans 8:32 ►

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Today's reading: GENESIS 1-3 MATTHEW 1

All Things

2 Peter 1:3-5

3 Jesus has the power of God. And his power has given us everything we need to live a life devoted to God. We have these things because we know him. Jesus chose us by his glory and goodness, 4 through which he also gave us the very great and rich gifts that he promised us. With these gifts you can share in being like God. And so you will escape the ruin that comes to people in the world because of the evil things they want.

A new week-a new month- a new year-a new memory verse:

 Romans 8:32 ►

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

We all do not have a private jet and a personal airport nor do we have our names on the biggest bank accounts. So what could Romans 8:32 mean? It means what 2 Peter 1:3-5 says.

He has given us all we need to live a life devoted to God. When we have Christ Jesus as our Lord, we have the way, the truth and the Life(John 14). We have all we need to live a life devoted to our Holy God who created the heavens and the earth(Genesis 1).

He has done His part in giving us all we need and continues to give His new mercies every morning(Lamentations 3:22-23).

God's part is moving and alive and ready. Our part is what we spend our lives doing. Do we live a life devoted to God or not? Well?

In 90 days we will have a new memory verse:

Psalm 16:8

"I have set the Lord continually before me;

Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken."

Because He has given us all we need to be devoted to Him, we must:

>Set God continually before us. This means to have God directly in our focus all the time-in the middle of trouble and trial and in great times and bad times-all the time. Focus on Him(Matthew 6:33)

>Allow God to build in us His unshakable confidence and to say ,as Paul said in 2 Timothy 1:12:

"I am convinced that he is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me."

All this sounds great but the flesh is so weak, so, we must follow one step at a time-one heart-beat-one breath-one thought in faith at a time.

May the Lord find us faithful.

...because He loves us...and we love Him...

Father in Heaven, Holy, Holy God,

I see my weaknesses and I want my desire to be for You to always be before You as I strive to live this life devoted to You. Thank you for giving me all I need for Your life.

Great God of new mercies,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
