Able And Qualified

Thursday, ‎September ‎8, ‎2022

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: 1 John 5:11-13 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

Memory verse: Romans 12:1: Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

Today's reading: PROVERBS 3-5 2 CORINTHIANS 1

Able and Qualified

The hearts of women and men in our world need divine desire. What I mean is that as I have walked this life I see folks go to any and all lengths to attain something they really believe they need.

For some of us it is a struggle just to meet the next monetary obligation-just to pay the bills. For some it is the work it takes to reach the next goal-"when I get to that point, I will be able to work to the next point...". For some it is the work it takes to gain as much control in their areas of influence that they toil for.

What people need is divine truth in their lives. While we work our lives through, our greatest need is to be in touch with what our hearts need and that is God's truth-as opposed to being concerned, always, with what is going on outside of our hearts. We are so consumed by what we need next-or want for whatever good and honorable reason-we omit the needs of our innermost beings.

The enemy works to keep our level of anxiety as high as possible. The Lord offers us peace from that anxiety.

Philippians 4:6-8

6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things.…

When you pray for revival, what do you mean? I don't think praying for revival is specific enough. Praying for revival means that people wake up to the reality of God's presence in their lives-to revive faith. This is a great and divine thing to pray for. Revival does not mean unsaved folks come to a saving knowledge of Christ. So, as we pray for our faith to be revived, we must also pray for souls to be saved.

When revival comes and faith is rekindled into fire, the lost world can see the power of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the believers. Then those who are 'able and qualified' can come to faith in Christ. What do I mean by that?

2 Timothy 3:

7 (people)who are always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth. They are depraved in mind and disqualified from the faith.

There are those who are of brilliant minds who will never know the real truth of God-brilliant but depraved minds that disqualifies them from faith.

I know-that is the darkest of statements but it is in the scripture for a reason. As we go into the world with a divine fire for the lost, we must know that some will never respond to the simple but profound love of God. When this happens, we must wipe the dust off and go to the next divine appointment. This can be devastating to some who are just learning to 'work the harvest' and this is when we must learn to take that captive and not let it discourage us.

Matthew 10:14 (Jesus said)

And if the people in a home or a town refuse to welcome you or listen to you, then leave that place and shake the dust off your feet.

A big point here is that we never know until we get to the point of their rejection-so, we cannot 'profile' because of outward appearance or political ties or any other justification for our judgements-our judgement of them is sin. Jesus said, "Go", he did not say go with reservation or preconceived notions-He said, "Go". God has chosen-not our job.

Some of the most negative people in this world are chosen by God to be saved and completely changed. What people say and do sometimes is because that is all they have ever absorbed from their surroundings and conditioning. They don't know they are 'able and qualified' until they hear from us and are touched by the Holy Spirit pulling them in.(Our greatest example is our own Apostle Paul who wrote a great part of the New Testament-remember-he hunted Christians down...)

This, then, is the sweetest place God puts us in after our own salvation-the place where we witness the blind see and the captives set free.

Pray for our hearts to be set fire to be part of God's miraculous moving. And, yes, pray for revival that workers for the harvest will be awakened to great moves by God in their own hearts.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for being cold-revive in me, oh God, your fire and power to walk as Jesus walked.

Great God who sets the captives free...

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
