Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Memory of the Month: 2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Today's reading: DEUTERONOMY 4-6 MARK 11:1-18

A Special Notice

In the morning email was a notice of a special offer. It started with a question:"Would you like to get closer to Christ at Easter time?"

Is there a believer anywhere who would answer negatively? I don't think so. But here is another question for us all: "Do you want to draw closer to Jesus-do you want to continue to draw closer to Jesus after Easter and from then on get closer and closer?"

Why does it take a special occasion to get close to Jesus? Why does something special have to happen to get us to draw near to God?

Can we begin to consider that every waking moment is a gift? Every breath-every beat of our hearts-every conscious thought is a time when we can dwell on God's active work in our lives and in the world around us.

What we celebrate as Easter is, indeed, the remembering of the sacrifice of the life and resurrection of Christ that gave us all a chance to live forever and it should be celebrated.

It should be celebrated everyday in our hearts and lives.

But there is always a journey back home after the big celebrations. A journey that is full of peace and comfort-and yes, trials and hardship are always there. But Mary and Joseph turned around and went back and found the twelve year old Jesus in the 'middle of His Father's work'.

After any celebration, we must all look for Jesus. We must always know our hearts and minds are trained on Him. It is not automatic. Jesus is always about His Father's work. Our hearts must be with Him.

We must be celebrating between the 'big days'. It is hard, yes, times get tough. But look for Jesus. He never leaves us but we forget to look.

Special Notice: The Holy Spirit-the divine personal presence of God is all yours right now-the power of the resurrection is in your life right now-grab it-grasp it-move in it-glory in it-sit at the feet of your Master.

Do not wait for a 'special day'...no one on this earth has what you have...you and God alone...together...right now.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for waiting-show me how to celebrate now-to honor You all the time-I want to present my body a living sacrifice-holy and acceptable to You!

Ever present and loving God!

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
