Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. Build my trust. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name...

Verse of the Day: John 16:33

33 I’ve said these things to you so that you will have peace in me. In the world you have distress. But be encouraged! I have conquered the world.”

Memory verse: Psalm 139:23–24 (ESV)

23  Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24  And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

Today's reading:  Malachi 1-4 Revelation 22

Time

It was time today, in our reading through the 'Bible in a year' plan, to finish 'The Book'-God's Holy Word and the last chapter of the Book of the Revelation.

We need to be reminded that we are free from the coming wrath of God.(the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15). Jesus will “tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty” (Revelation 19:15))

1 Thessalonians 1:10 (ESV)

10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

I need ,also, to be reminded that my journey, our journey, is a continuing process of being made holy in Jesus-that I cannot rest.

Revelation 22:14 How blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they have the right to eat from the Tree of Life and go through the gates into the city! (This is after verse 11 says, "and whoever is holy, let him go on being made holy.”)

Those who wash their robes means 'those who are washing the robes'. It is an ongoing verb-washing.

We are being made holy by God through Christ as we continually trust Him-by continually washing our robes. This means to me that my part-our part-is never finished. Jesus' work is done-our work of offering ourselves as living sacrifices(Romans 12:1&2) is never done.

We move forward to the prize-forgetting the past-

Philippians 3:14 "I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

I write with the love that is ours in Christ to you all that I yearn for us all to have a new year of great growth in the knowledge and joy and love of God in Christ Jesus.

...because He loves us..

Father in Heaven,

Your name be praised above all. Let me know as much as I can of Your kingdom and be as obedient as You desire. Give me the bread I need today to keep washing by Your word. Forgive me for my complacency. Lead me away from wicked desires.

Father of Light,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
