Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me." -Matthew 16:24

Memory of the Month: Proverbs 15:1-A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Today's reading: PROVERBS 1-2 1 CORINTHIANS 16

The Ultimate Yes

The final answer is yes. In Christ is the positive answer to all God's promises.(2 Corinthians 1:19)

2 Corinthians 1:19 ►For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silas and Timothy—was not “Yes” and “No,” but in him it has always been “Yes.”

Jesus said,

"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever", John 14:16 .

Is the Lord with each of us believers? Yes, He has given us His Spirit who will never leave us.

22 "He put his mark on us to show that we are his. Yes, he put his Spirit in our hearts...", 2 Corinthians 1

When the hardest of times hit us, what does God do? When we cry out to Him for help, what does God say? He says yes. 2 Corinthians 1:3 says, "He is the Father who is full of mercy, the God of all comfort. 4 He comforts us every time we have trouble..."

When we get through the tough time and we look at God and say, "Thank you, Lord, for Your comfort; will You tell me what I do now-how do I go on from here?" God says, "Yes, of course".

Paul wrote: "4 He comforts us every time we have trouble so that when others have trouble, we can comfort them with the same comfort God gives us. 5 We share in the many sufferings of Christ. In the same way, much comfort comes to us through Christ." 2 Corinthians 1

We say, "Lord, Is there a reason we go through the troubles?" The answer is always yes.

Paul writes, "6 If we have troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is so that we can comfort you. 2 Corinthians 1

We pray for patience. We pray for hope. We pray for confidence and trust. God says, as always, yes.

Paul continues: 6 "And this helps you patiently accept the same sufferings we have. 7 Our hope for you is strong. We know that you share in our sufferings. So we know that you also share in our comfort. 2 Corinthians 1

Jesus had a working ministry on this earth. He did not seek fortune and fame or power. His power was complete from His Father. His fortune was and is His joy over each soul saved.

His fame sent Him to the cross. His fame is our fortune.

God says to us, "Yes, in Christ, all I have is yours".

Jesus prayed, "10 All I have is Yours, and all You have is Mine; and in them I have been glorified. John 17

Yes to God's will-yes to righteousness-yes to His kingdom-yes to faithfulness-yes to comfort-yes to strength-yes to His joy and fulfilling-yes to life forever.

Yes to grace and forgiveness and restoration.

2 Corinthians 5:18, NLT: "And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.

Yes, there is always loving to do.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for feeling sorry for myself. You have given me access to all I ever will need. Teach me how to listen and use me.

Gracious Lord of wisdom and hope!

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
