Evidence
Proof, confirmation, verification---these are evidence.
Hebrews 11 is called 'the roll call of faith'. These are old testament figures that had 'proof' that God is who He says He is and will do what He says He will do.
We will take some of the verses and insert the word 'proof, confirmation, or verification' for faith.
3 By 'confirmation' we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God; Hebrews 3 What confirmation? God's word says, "3 All things were made through Him(the Word) , and without Him nothing was made that was made. (John, chapter 1)
Hebrews 11:6...And without proof it is impossible to please Him. The proof by which we live comes from many places in scripture and also the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:16 ► The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.
Hebrews 11:13- All these died in confirmation(faith), without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance,
People live by faith because it is confirmed in their hearts by the proof of God-the presence of the Holy Spirit-the actions of God in life around us-the written Word which is : is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword,Hebrews 4:12 ►(For the word of God)
What is faith to you? Faith is proof that Jesus will return. (For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done. (Matthew 16:27) He will be with you until the end of the age.(Matthew 28:20 ►And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.") The Holy Spirit will lead us and comfort us. "The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and make you remember all that I have told you." (John 14:26) "The Spirit’s presence is shown in some way in each person for the good of all." (1 Corinthians 12:7)
Then, there is the world around us-the people who watch us and hear us. They should see people who know who they are. They should see people who are governed by God's peace and love and are in control of their actions and reactions. Confirmation to the world is that we don't act and react as they do but use every opportunity to achieve peace and reach out in faith in the name of Christ Jesus.
What is faith? Proof. What is our proof? Our God with us. Jesus. Matthew 1:23 ►"The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (which means "God with us").
...because He loves us... Father in Heaven, Forgive me for not walking in you before the world. Increase my faith where I stand on You as proof. Mighty God of faithfulness. In Christ Jesus' name, Amen
