Knowing

Monday, ‎September ‎28, ‎2020 Good morning, Lord V.O.D.: 1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. M.O.M.: The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.—Romans 13:12 Today's reading: Isaiah 7-8 Ephesians 2

Knowing

The older I get the more I realize just how bad I was at one time. Oh, I never missed a day of work to foolishness and sin and paid my bills made my grades and got my degree-blah, blah, blah but my mind was on sin all the time.

Actually, the more I learn of the righteous character of God, the more aware I am of how horrible sin is to Him.

Folks that we call 'bad' are not aware. They have no way of knowing the mind of Christ because they are not in Christ. Our hearts should not and cannot hate them. They should break for them. 1 Corinthians 2:16 “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

The lost people in the world should see Jesus in us because they should see people who are engaging the mind of Christ in all of our lives. What do they see in yours? What do they see in me?

We have the mind of Christ to use for His kingdom. We have the mind of Christ to learn how to look on the multitudes with compassion as Christ did. Matthew 9:36 ►When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

The masses are people who put their trust in organizations, people, power and wealth along with other things. They do all this by choice, yes, but they are harassed by the ultimate evil that drives them to be 'right'.

Back in school when you gave the wrong answer on a spelling test, you either thought you were right or you just guessed. It was after the test that you found you were wrong.

Jesus looked on the multitudes and saw people and knew that without Him, they would not know they were wrong until it was all over. The Roman soldier looked at Jesus after his death and said it. Mark 15:39 When the centurion standing there in front of Jesus saw how He had breathed His last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!

We see multitudes of people on the street protesting on TV and what do we see? Do we see people harassed by ultimate evil and without salvation and a shepherd or do we see hate?

The mind of Christ looks with compassion on all-even the ones who would nail Him to a cross if they had a chance today. The enemy knows how much power is in hate and will stop at nothing to see it over all humanity. He knows us believers and our old nature and does all he can to see us consumed with the power of hate.

God asked Elijah twice (1 Kings 19:9, 13), "What are you doing here?" Everyday we should look in the mirror and hear God ask us, "What are you doing here?" Our answer should be, "Striving to live with the mind of Christ". Is this the answer we can honestly give?

This may be an overwhelming idea for some but it does not have to be. The Holy Spirit is already in your life in Christ Jesus. God wants us to be aware of His presence because He never leaves us. If our minds are on Him, our minds are on Christ and He fills our minds and hearts. It is this, 'God-consciousness' that we are all encouraged to pursue-to be aware of God all the time.

Persistence. Repetition. Loving God with all we are.

...because He Loves us...

Father in Heaven, Forgive my fear and fill me with a desire to be aware of You all the time. Sweet and gracious Father and Lord! In the name of Jesus, Amen
