Something New?

Good morning, Lord

V.O.D.: Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ? —John 4:30

M.O.M.: Psalm 27:13 I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

Today's reading: PSALM 68-69 ROMANS 8:1-21

Something New

The 8th chapter of Romans has much said directly to our hearts from God that, as all scripture, we should grasp. These are things we hear from time to time and don't realize they all come from the same spot.

Romans 8:1-there is no condemnation-no condemning-no one can condemn us-you-me-in Christ Jesus. After all the intellect of the left has conjured against us, none of it matters to our souls-pressure of the world cannot condemn us in Christ.

Verse 6-Our hearts set on Christ is life and peace.

Verse 15-we have been given the spirit of adoption-by which we cry out 'Abba' Father. The Lord responds to His children as we call out to Him-God always responds to His children.

Verse 16-His Spirit tells us in our spirits that we belong to Him. He tells us we are His. This cannot be taken away. God, Himself, tells us we are His.(Are we listening?)

Verse 17-we are fellow heirs with Christ-if we suffer with Him-we are heirs to all Christ has-all of it-the power-the peace-the life-the direction...

Verse 18-the difficulties, the sufferings, the pain we go through here on earth are nothing when compared to the what we will have in Heaven.

Verse 21-not only us, but the whole of creation will be set free from sin and suffering when Jesus returns.

These are only part of what the first 21 verses have to say. If we miss a day of reading scripture, what do we miss?

We miss the part that God wants us to hear today. There will be something else tomorrow.

Looking forward to what God will show us tomorrow is a mindset we should be cultivating from the encouragement we have received today. This is a part of a thriving relationship with our Lord, a very important part, but still only a part of what God has for us daily if we are humbled under His hand in total submission.

God will fill each part of our lives with what He wants for us if we are committed.

Psalm 37:4-Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

To delight ourselves-to treat ourselves to the Lord-that means make a decision to really enjoy the Lord instead of treating our time with the Lord like taking medicine.

Take joy. Uncover joy-let your soul enjoy God's presence-it is not just OK, it is a must.

Psalm 34:2 I will glory in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. 3 Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.

Jesus said, "I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete". John 15:11

...because he loves us...
