Fresh

Monday, ‎July ‎13, ‎2020 Good morning, Lord V.O.D.: Philippians 2:9-11 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. M.O.M.: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27 Today's reading: Psalm 10-12 Acts 19:1-20

Get Fresh

King David writes in, Psalm 7: 12, If a man does not repent, He will sharpen His sword; He has bent His bow and made it ready. 16 His mischief will return upon his own head, And his violence will descend upon his own pate.

Why is it so hard to admit that we have been wrong and have sinned? Why do we hang on to sin and try to push it back from our minds and pretend we can ignore it?

If a person does not repent-if we do not get it off our chests and out of the way-we start building a defense for our bad behavior. We start to make excuses, in other words, we start to lie to ourselves and everybody else along with God.

A sin to cover a sin, a lie to cover a lie.

No one needs that kind of pressure. Why do we do it? We know what it is like to be clean-I mean we do know, don't we? We say we know. Could it be that some have gone so long and lived under this pressure of guilt that they have become accustomed to it and forgotten the freedom that is there in Christ?

It all starts with one bad little choice. Paul knew it and wrote: Ephesians 4:…26“Be angry, yet do not sin.” Do not let the sun set upon your anger, 27and do not give the devil a foothold. 28He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing good with his own hands..."

Just think about it, please. When Christ forgives the humble heart, we are fresh and clean and light as a feather. Acts 3:19 ►Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

No one need endure all that pressure just to justify sin. Really...what sense does that make?

Get Fresh-get clean-get in front of God and deal with it.

Jesus did not die so we could be miserably in chains.

Jesus died to bring us freedom-so be free in Him.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven, Forgive me my pride and my stubborn heart-forgive me my sin. I let it go and give it to you. Increase my faith, oh God. Great and merciful Father! In the name of Christ Jesus, Amen
