Today's reading: Lamentations 3-5 Hebrews 10:19-39 M.O.M.: Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. V.O.D: 1 Peter 3:18 New King James Version For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,
Some Days
Some days getting started is just really difficult. In the mid-seventies I was 21 and working building railroad-road bed in southern Illinois. It was the coldest winter any of the locals could remember and we had some of their old-timers working with us. The tracks-the iron part a bull dozer runs on-froze to the ground and the machines could not move. We resorted to pouring diesel on the entire lengths of the bottoms and setting them ablaze. (It is not as dangerous as it sounds.)
It did not take long and the old tractors were 'untracked'-that just means they could move freely-but they had to keep moving...
Lamentations 3: 22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; 23 they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”
Hope is always a thought away. A thought of our great God can set a spark to the frozen ground and get us untracked but we must keep moving. We must keep focused on the source of the fire.
Hebrews 12:28Therefore, since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us be filled with gratitude, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. 29For our God is a consuming fire.
Always remember this: Hebrews 10:39 But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.
The world never stops coming at us but God never leaves us. John 16:33 ►New International Version "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
Get untracked with God...stay hot!
Father, Kindle the fire-melt the trouble away and move my heart to praise and worship! Mighty and wonderful God!!
...because He loves us...
