Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.—1 Timothy 4:14-15

Memory of the Month: Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Today's reading: 1 KINGS 21-22 LUKE 23:26-56

The Right Voice

The world seems to get worse all the time. Agencies exist world-wide that gather data to prove that the world and civilization progresses and at the same time things get worse. We could spend lifetimes talking about the world's woes.

There has always been a 'movement' to make the message of the Gospel of Christ more acceptable to the masses. The spirit that is behind that is the same spirit that dulls the sense of morality in the world to make sin more acceptable.

Why?

Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. (English Standard Version)

This makes some of us worry endlessly.

2 Timothy 1:7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.(English Standard Version)

The point today is for us to take a look at the state of our world against the truth of God's word. No matter how bad the world gets-no matter how much it changes, our God never changes.

Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Malachi 3:6

“For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed."

Isaiah 40:8

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.

Psalm 33:11

The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations.

Numbers 23:19

God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?

Now, we all are concerned for our world and how it is changing but God would not have us worry and tells us in the scripture how to deal with worry:

Philippians 4:6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (English Standard Version)

The solid rock-our rock-the rock of our salvation never changes-never. We can spend our time worrying about the state of our world or spend our time with our minds fixed on the real truth. While the world falls deeper under the spell of the enemy, God has told us what to do.

Micah 6:8

8 He has told you, O man, what is good;

and what does the Lord require of you

but to do justice, and to love mercy(kindness),

and to walk humbly with your God?

The one way God has given us to walk humbly before Him is to walk in the Spirit. It is impossible to walk in the Spirit without walking humbly before God. Prayer is not real prayer without being humble before the throne of God. We cannot judge people or the world and walk humbly before God. We cannot believe we have all the answers and be humble before our God who holds all the answers.

The point is: to the family of god-the Body of Christ who follows Christ and walks in the Spirit, the only change that is good is righteous growth in Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit and all that results from that growth.

The world will never stop changing.

God will never change. His Word will never change. His love endures forever. His message through us will always be the same. A soul who is relentless in pursuit of God's kingdom and His righteousness in Christ Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit will always be growing.

The abundant life in Christ is full of all the joy and power of God but always comes with the pain of life. It is in our constant dependence on the Holy Spirit that we grow and learn how to be conquerors and not conquered.

1 Corinthians 15:57 but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

1 John 5:4 4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

Listen to God.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for letting the world worry me. Thank You for Your victory in me.

Our great God who never changes,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
