Good morning, Lord
Verse of the Day: “This I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end.” (Lamentations 3:21–22)
Memory verse: Romans 8:32 ►He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
Today's reading: EXODUS 1-3 MATTHEW 14:1-21
The Engine Of Life
The word 'engine' in early Latin- ingenium "innate qualities, ability; inborn character.
Being 'born of the Spirit' of God in Christ Jesus means we have God's inborn character-The Holy Spirit is our 'life engine'. Our Engine runs on the divine power of God that never has to be 're-fueled'. His power is in His divine perpetuity-He was-He is-He is to come.
Revelation 1:8 ►“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Our Engine can be heard if we listen. To me, the sound is of rushing waters-the sound of the river of life. It is not the sound of anything that man has ever produced from elements out of the earth-no carbon burn or giant fan blade rushing throught the air.
The sound of our Engine is the very movement of the heart of God. It may be rushing water, for me-for you it may be the movement of the wind.
John 3:8 ►The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
Our job is to hear the voice and the movement of God in out hearts and lives-no matter the sound, we must hear God powering our lives.
There is not a pump or a charging station for our Engine-there is a very Holy place God has for each one of us where we meet Him and listen. There is no extention cord, fuel tank, or battery but a river that flows not to us but, because of the Holy Spirit in our lives-our inborn Engine-rivers of living water flow from us.
Jesus said, "38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’(John 3)
Our Engine runs always because God never leaves us...
Listen to your Engine...
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
Forgive me for not listening-for not seeking out Your Holy place for me. I want to hear your heart. I am listening...
Gentle and awesome Friend,
In the name of Christ Jesus my Lord,
Amen
