The Best Thing

‎Saturday, ‎April ‎3, ‎2021

Good Morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Hebrews 12:2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Memory of the month:  And they said to one another, "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?" —Luke 24:32

Today's reading: JUDGES 19-21 LUKE 7:31-50

The Best Thing

Our truth of Easter is the resurrection and yet it is easy to not grasp the full meaning on this earth.

John 11:25 ►Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;"

Paul wrote: "51Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.…"

Christ is not just 'the' resurrection but 'our' resurrection. Our resurrection-ours-yours and mine.

As we pray for those around us, the Holy Spirit reminds us of the little ones who are new to this world and their parents and families and we pray for all of them to come to a saving knowledge of Christ. But, we must realize that He knows their names-all of them. Jesus died for each small life and all the big ones and is right there in their lives to love them into salvation.

As we pray for greater understanding, we must know and learn that Jesus is in the middle of loving them all and so let us pray that they see God's revelation of Himself to them and hear Him speak to them. We must pray for workers in the harvest.

" 37Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:37

Pray for the workers to get to them early in Life. Statistics tell us that people are most likely to come to salvation in Christ before the age of twenty than after. But experience shows us that the Holy Spirit moves in the hearts of people to seek and save the lost.

Luke 19:10 "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost."

There is a lot to do before the resurrection is realized for us all. But we must seek to learn as much as we can about the 'power of the resurrection and the fellowship of the suffering', Philippians 3, as we strive to live in obedience to our Father.

Paul said, "I tell you a mystery...". Let's all pray that we learn all we can of the mystery so we live in awe of our great and mighty God and the world around us can see in us the wonder of God's love in our lives for them and the excitement in our hearts for His return.

Jesus is the best thing. He is the main thing. This Easter, as always, let us pray that we keep the main thing, the main thing.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me my apathy and fill me with awe of the resurrection as well as the crucifixion. Fill me with awe of it all-all of You.

Complete and perfect God.

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
