Seek The Source

‎Monday, ‎June ‎13, ‎2022

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Psalm 68:4-5 New King James Version

Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Extol Him who rides on the clouds, By His name Yah, And rejoice before Him. A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation.

Memory of the Month: Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Today's reading: EZRA 6-8 JOHN 21

Seek the Source

Pilate said to Jesus, “Don’t you realize I have the power to either free you or to crucify you?”

Jesus said,”You would have no power if it were not given to you from above”. (All from John 19:1-22)

Pilate did not know—he feared something was going on about which he knew very little but he could not understand and certainly not control.

The world is very much the same today. We all go about our lives and see so little of the real truth—unless we seek the source.

God’s power over our lives is limitless and He does still have a plan. It is hard to see God’s plan and hear God speak when we allow ourselves to be immersed in the barrage of the enemy disguised as 'essential needs'.

Pilate missed the meaning of his entire day—the entire age. It was all about the Roman world-to Pilate-like it is all about the world fed to us by the media and modern education.

If we listen endlessly to the world opinion from the world stage we will be oblivious to God’s hand moving around us.

And power…power is relative. We have bombs that can destroy but we have nothing that can give life. Yes, we have technology that enhances the lives we have but nothing can make life—except the hand of Almighty God.

So, what is life? Life is what God says it is. God makes it so.

Now, that statement is easy to make—easy to throw out there and not defend. But then God needs no defending.

God’s word tells us how to have life and have it abundantly. God’s word has the key to joy unspeakable and peace that cannot be explained away.

So why do we not see more of this ‘life’?

We do not seek the source. A few of the kings of the old testament tried to bring the nation back to God and then the next one would rebel against God. They wanted to control-they wanted their way-God is the only source of all they needed.

One generation of disobedience is all it takes.

But one generation of obedience—one group of people who seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness and God’s favor is with a people.

Our lives are not so unlike those old kingdoms. One decision of disobedience-like in the morning-"I don't have time to pray or read the scripture..." One morning leads to another morning then you're 2 months down the road without having a face to face with your Lord.

We all make time for what is most important to us...so what is really most important to you?

God is patient.

…because He loves us…

Father in Heaven,

I want to seek Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Forgive me my worldly focus and help train my mind to stay on You.

Mighty and powerful God!

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
