Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, open my heart and mind, Holy Spirit. Fill my consciousness and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: 1 John 1:8–9
8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the
truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.
Verse of the day-Psalm 112:5-Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice.
Today’s reading: Psalm 37-39 Acts 26
Everything Good
One of our favorite verses is Romans 8:32-”He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?”
Sometimes we read a verse like this and get carried away. This verse asks, “...how can He not give us all things”?
So, we have to find clarification in this scripture:
Hebrews 13:21 (ESV)
21 (God will) “...equip you with everything good that you may do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Three things:
> He will give us ‘everything good’ to do His will. God gives us all we will ever need to do His will-His work on this earth.
This does not mean what we think is good on this earth-it means that God gives us what He knows is good(what is pleasing in His sight) to accomplish His mission for us.
> He works in us to please Him. He ‘works’ everything good in us. His fight works in us. His love works in us. His power works in us. All of His fruit ‘works’ in us.
>God gives us everything good and then works it all in us through Christ Jesus to His pleasure-His pleasure is the glory of Christ.
God’s working ‘everything good’ in us lifts the name of Christ up so that all men will be drawn to Him.
Everything good is all about God in Christ.
God expects for us to ask Him for what we need to survive in this world-to depend on His provision for His glory. He also expects for us to know we have in Him ‘everything good’ to live as He directs us to live and work to His glory in Christ Jesus.
We’ve got what we need. Do not ignore the provision. Seek knowledge to use it. Ask God.
...because He loves you, He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Remove my blinders so I can see all You give me everyday so I will praise You from a full heart. I want to know Your kingdom inside of me. Forgive me for letting the needs of this worldly life blind me to what I have in You. Lead me away from wickedness.
Lord of righteous vision,
In the name of Christ Jesus my Lord,
Amen
