Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Romans 8:32

He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Memory of the Month: Proverbs 15:1-A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Today's reading: PSALM 110-112 1 CORINTHIANS 5

Those Who Practice

Those who practice something have developed good habit. In Psalm 111:10, it reads: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!

Reading on in Psalm 112, these are some of the things that are said for the one who practices the fear of the Lord. She/he is:

Blessed;

gracious, merciful, and righteous;

one who conducts affairs with justice;

remembered forever;

not afraid of bad news;

not afraid,

a free giver.

2 Corinthians 3:18-New Living Translation

So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord--who is the Spirit--makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

So how do we fear the Lord? How do we respect the Lord-honor the Lord-hallow His name?

We have read of the awesome power of the Lord. He has placed great power on us and in us in the person of the Holy Spirit. He will not harm us but we know what God could do. We know God could flash us into oblivion but why would our loving God do that? Or Loving God had His only Son die for us-He will deliver us-not destroy us.

Practice reviewing how fearsome God could be. While living in the protection and love of our Almighty Father, always praise Him for His awesome power-the power that blesses us.

Practice hearing God:

"For I know the plans I have for you," (declares the LORD,) "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

He has our future in His hands and hope for that future.

Practice this fear-the fear that He casts out with love and hope and truth and life.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Romans 8:1 Therefore, now no condemnation awaits those who are living in Jesus the Anointed, the Liberating King, 2 because when you live in the Anointed One, Jesus, a new law takes effect. The law of the Spirit of life breathes into you and liberates you from the law of sin and death

If you must fear something, fear that you will miss something God has for you each step of the way

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven, my loving God,

Great is the power You wield; the power to love me beyond my comprehension. Compel my heart to practice this fear and seek Your kingdom and live in Your love more deeply than I can imagine.

In the name of Christ our Lord,

Amen
