The Fruit Of Righteousess
Monday, October 5,2026
Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, open my heart and mind, Holy Spirit. Fill my consciousness and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: 1 John 1:8–9
8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the
truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and
just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.
Verse of the day: Proverbs 27:1 “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.”
Today’s reading: Isaiah 23-25 Philippians 1
The Fruit of Righteousness
So, what are we to expect to happen in our hearts because of the presence of the Holy Spirit that God has had move into our hearts in Christ Jesus?
God had Paul write of it in many places but in the first chapter of Philippians he says:
9 And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, 10 so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
The ‘fruit of righteousness’-qualities that God’s presence makes real in us as we trust and obey in the love of Christ.
There is the rub-our trust and obedience. If we trust God-when we are conscious of Him and are walking in the Spirit, then what Paul said in verse 9 grows in us:
“that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment”.
Paul says he prays that their love may abound but not just love-but our love may be filled with knowledge and discernment. This is God’s wisdom with a view of the world seen through God’s heart. Plainly, God lets us see black and white-His righteousness takes all the ‘gray’ out and gives us His ‘common sense’.
How is your vision of the world today-right now? Are you still shocked at all the filth in the world or have you, we, become numb to it. Have we allowed God’s truth to leave us?
We could be lying to ourselves as it says in 1 John 1:8- “If we say we have no sin, the truth is not in us”.
If simple sin in and around you does not bother you, there is only one thing to do:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and
just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.” I John 1:9
Do the soul search you need to and tell God how you feel about what you have just read. Confess and see the truth-enjoy the fruit of God’s righteousness.
...because He loves you, He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Isaiah 25:1 O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure.
Forgive me for not staying clean-for letting the world blind me to simple sin. Lead me away from this wickedness.
Father of righteousness,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
