Poor Perception
Tuesday, March 18, 2025
Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your limitless love in Christ. Build my trust and my passion. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Ephesians 2:6 “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”
Verse of the Day: Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Daily Reading: Joshua 1-3 Mark 16
Destitute of Perception
Once Jesus ‘fussed at His 11 remaining followers(disciples) after His resurrection because they had not believed reports of His appearances. He had told them He would rise from the dead yet they would not believe. The Bible says in Mark 16:14 that, “He criticized them because they had little faith.” The Greek translates here ‘because they were destitute of perception’.
I have always lived by an old saying, “If a man really wants to work, He will find work”, meaning no one really has an excuse unless He really does not want to work-which is ‘destitute of desire”.
I believe we are given desire which can grow if we apply ourselves-if we are not negative and lazy-if we are not ‘destitute of perception’.
We perceive the truth when we want to-when we drop our human reasoning and listen to God. The enemy makes our heads and hearts as hard as we allow.
Do you hear what I’m saying? We are ‘destitute of perception’ when we choose.
Jesus knew this about His apostles. They were all so negative after the crucifixion-”there is no way Jesus is alive-we saw Him die”
How deep is our perception of the absolute truth of Jesus and His sacrifice for us then and His perfect provision for us now?
What stands in our way of following Him with all we are-of learning all we can? I believe the answer is our ‘employment of the desire’ God has given us to use.
Employ and develop your desire in Christ. He will do it.
...because He loves us…
Father In Heaven,
Great is Your faithfulness, great God. Great is Your kingdom. Increase my desire as I see it truthfully and forgive me my denial of Your Lordship. Lead me away from this stupidity.
Giver of all good and perfect gifts,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
