Today's reading: Ezekiel 30-32 1 Peter 4
Live Among the Real Rich
Are you wealthy? If you have Jesus, you are wealthy.
2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.
Do you have what it takes?
Philippians 4:19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
It angers the enemy that for every question he has for a Christian, there is a very basic answer. Jesus is our answer to all of it. If that gets on our nerves just a little, welcome to the club of those who admit it. Jesus hung on a cross for us so we could be thankful. The enemy tries to foul it up at every turn.
Back to Job...He knew what he had lost. But, he had friends who came and judged by outward appearance and bad doctrine. He had a wife who just wanted it to be over. What did Job say?
"If God kills me I will trust Him..." Job 13:15
He did not beg his friends or his wife to change their minds. Job knew what he had. He had faith. All his wealth and his children were gone yet Job never let go his faith.
We have a God who does not demand any 'thing' from us. God wants us to be with Him. God wants us with Him now and in Heaven. He never gives up on us. He never leaves us alone.
Hebrews 13:5 ►Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
God will give us anything and everything we actually need.
Romans 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things?
We have all been there and many of us continue to step in that same hole. You know, the one where we worry about everything? The hole where we feel all alone and broken...
I only can wish I knew who you are. But, I can't get to you to try to lift your spirits and encourage you.
God is right there. He will not force Himself on you but He is ready to move for you.
And yes, I know how hard it has been for me to let go of hurt and reach for help, but hurt denies help-God is help-all help'.
Psalm 46 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
If you are not feeling very thankful, please listen. God knows everything about you and whatever it is that burdens you now. He only wants the best for you in all things. God loves you as much as He does anyone in the world; no one is more precious to Him than you.
But-we have a part in this. We must choose. We must choose to get up off our back parts of mind and emotion and confess our weak faith and place our minds and emotions in God's hands.
Stop making excuses and arguing with the truth. Stop. Run to God. Run to His welcome. Run to His limitless love. Run to complete forgiveness. Run to Him for freedom-complete freedom.
Live among the real rich...
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
Forgive me for not choosing to allow you to fill me. Forgive me for not asking. Fill me with strong faith. I am yours.
Father of all complete lives,
In the name of Jesus,
Amen
