More Mercy than sin

Tuesday, January 7, 2025

Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. Build my trust. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name...

Verse of the Day: Ephesians 5:1-2

5 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Memory verse: Psalm 139:23–24 (ESV)

23  Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24  And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

Today's reading: Genesis 18-19 Matthew 6:1-18

More Mercy than Sin

Since January first, we have visited some questions that check our soul health. Most times of soul examination can bring the accuser around to temp us to self condemn because of failure to meet a standard.

To begin with, this is between you and God. At any point the feelings of failure start to attack, please remember this, as one writer said, "There is more mercy in Christ than sin in us".

Our questions have been:

January 1, "Do you desire God?"

January 2, "Do you draw near to God?"

January 3, 1 Peter 3:15, "Do you live with the 'reason' for hope?"

January 4, "Are you dominated by any 'thing'?"

January 5, "Do you think you are better than the 'others'?"

January 6, "Do you make Christ Known?"

I have a question for all of us to make a point. "Are you holy?

1 Peter 1:15 "...but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior;"

There is more mercy in Christ than sin in us. We all have work to do. None are perfect. Christ is perfect and we are in Him and belong to Him.

Don't worry-don't fret-fear not-because of all these things-what seems to be a vast army of sin against us.

2 Chronicles 20:15b, "This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s."

Trust God to get you through. Be vigilant-be steady-trust the Holy Spirit. He will do it-He will do a great work in you.

1 Thessalonians 5:24 ►"The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it."

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Help me to lift up Your name high above all. Your kingdom come and give me a passion to obey you. Give me Your strength to trust you and forgive me for being fake. Lead me away from lies.

Sweet Lord of all mercy,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
