Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:

Hebrews 12:15 See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.

Memory of the Month: Psalm 33:4

4 For the word of the Lord is right and true;

he is faithful in all he does.

Today's reading: EZEKIEL 5-7 HEBREWS 12

Infusion

A patient who had Covid a year back went to have their Covid-19 antibody level checked. The doctor called back alarmed that the high number indicated that the patient needed to be tested for Covid. After a negative test, the doctor stated that the patient's immune system had probably fought off an exposure to the virus but, in any case, the patient's system was really working well showing high immunity.

For those who test positive to the virus there is an antibody infusion therapy used with good results.

Charles Stanley wrote this:

"Only through a continuous infusion of His sustaining power can we live a victorious Christian life."

We can fight it forever but the truth is that we do not work up an immunity to sin. There is no magic vaccine. There is no magic mask to keep sin out. We do have access to the eternal  power of God in our lives that keeps us from sin but only when we are connected-only when our hearts and minds are trained on His presence in our lives.

The infection of sin is only one quick and easy decision to 'turn our ears off'. To stop listening to the Holy Spirit is a sure path to infection by sin.

How much energy has been expended over this physical virus Covid? Trillions have been spent to make vaccines and none will prevent further infection.

I am reminded of a government 'contest' of sorts to find the best design for vertical 'take-off' aircraft. One worked well but was just plain ugly and was not chosen. It did the job but was really unsightly. Billions and billions were spent and gravity still has the last word-ugly or not.

Money wasted, energy spent on temporary or partial solutions. This is the best the world has to offer. The very best. Immunizations that do not immunize. Airplanes that eventually still have to land or crash...

Governments that give security to its citizens only to have some of those same citizens destroy the security provided.

All these things: research, technology, government- have two things in common: the natural laws of science and people- and people will never in this lifetime, conquer mother nature. (That is a funny name-mother nature-sounds like those in the Bible who-against God's law-worshipped the 'Queen of heaven' in the book of Jeremiah.)

The choice is clear. We either worship the world and the 'best' it has to offer or we worship the one true God. One has temporary fixes that are always being 'updated'.

God has given us permanent peace, eternal security and offers permanent infusion of His Life-complete victory over the world. The operative word here is 'offers'. This uncovers our responsibility of choice.

Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”John 16:33

You will have trouble-you may have peace.

The child asked the teacher, "May I have a turn?". The teacher answers, "Yes, you may but you must follow instructions."

We ask of the Lord,  "May I have peace?". The Lord answers, "Yes, you may but you must follow me."

Infusion or infection? Obedience or sin. Mother nature, science, the 'queen', self-- or our eternal God. Choose.

Joshua wrote, “choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15)

Choose...

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

I confess my frustration over life in this world and life in You. I want the wrong stuff. I am resetting. This day, I choose You. Have mercy on me.

Wise and gentle God,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
