He Always Knows

  Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Romans 11:33

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

Memory verse: Psalm 90:14

14 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Today's reading: 1 CHRONICLES 7-9 JOHN 6:22-44

He Always Knows

John 6: 5 When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?” 6 He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.

Jesus fed 5000 men that day(that number does not include women and children). A great miracle it is-to us.

But to Jesus it was another step in the plan. He knew what was to happen and how. He was not surprised by the number of people in the hungry horde. He asked a simple question: "Where shall we buy bread to feed all these...?" Not 'how' shall we feed them or how soon but Jesus asked 'where'.

Jesus knew that no bread would be bought. He knew that it was already there-in one little picnic basket.

The 'where' is always the same. Two thousand years ago or fifteen minutes from now-the where is always the same-God's provision is always the 'where'.

But the question is always there for us as it was for Philip. Where are we looking for provision? How many times in our lives have we seen something coming at us that seems impossible? Where do we look? What are we thinking?

The Lord wants us to always have Him on our minds. The impossible has always been His business-along with strengthening the believer's faith. Do we immediately see the 'insurmountable' or do we see God's power? In a flash do our minds go to God or to worry and despair? (If we have taken up our cross, we are using the mind of Christ...Luke 9:23, 1 Corinthians 2:16)

Matthew 19:26 ►Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Our minds must be trained to hear the question from Jesus, "Where are you looking for the answer?" Are we looking to the world or ourselves or are we looking to our all-powerful God who knows how it all will turn out to begin with?

The question should never have been, "What would Jesus do?" (This, again, is a lateral question-we are asking people around us for the answer. The question should be vertical.) The question should have always been, "Jesus, what do You want me to do?"

God will provide victory. He will either use you to help 'feed the 5000' or give you the grace to figure it out-whatever 'it' is.

If we are centered on Him or not, God controls the outcome. If we are centered on Him, we will learn from it by His grace. God always has a reason for everything He leads us through.

His provision becomes obvious when we totally trust Him.

Pray to look for what God is teaching...

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven, Mighty God,

Forgive me my frantic and weak trust. Teach me to expect Your teaching that I may learn in victory and in sorrow-in joy and in pain. Grow my faith.

Great provider and King!

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
