Enjoying God

Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. Build my trust. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Ephesians 2:6 “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”
Verse of the Day: Deuteronomy 7:9
9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,

Enjoying God
Think about what draws a crowd in our world. What do people cheer for? We cheer obviously for sports and music but for what else do people express enjoyment? We hear about the best foods at great eating establishments. People go to hear great performers and comedians. Many love a good read-a book to get lost in. We love to fly and dream about the awe of flying. There is so much to be enjoyed in this world-sights, sounds, flavors; the rush of excitement…
People seek the joyful ‘feelings’ of the world because the other side is pain or sorrow or distress. Some think they cannot sit still because if they do the ‘pain catches up’.
This cannot be life lived fully-living for the next ‘big thing’.
When you are completely still and alone, are you satisfied?
God’s perfect love does not need so has no need to be contained, indeed cannot be contained. God’s love eternally overflows, so He created us to know this perfection even though He knew all the future History. God knew what the heart of free will would do and, knowing it all, created us anyway.
This tells me that God created us with the capacity to really know His greatness. He created in us the capacity to be thrilled in Him. This is far above academics though study of His inspired word is essential to know all that is written about Him.
Our capacity to know God is God given and limited only by our own reservations-and He is present with us always-the Holy Spirit counsels us to leave behind us all our reservations, our conditioning, so we can fully be satisfied and enjoy God.
Be honest with yourself and God. Let go and know God the way He offers and His real worship in Spirit and Truth will happen in your heart and flow outward.
...because He loves us…
Father in Heaven,
Let Your praise flow from my heart, oh great God. Let me know the wonders of Your kingdom. Give me the desire and resolve I need today. Forgive me my bad choices. Lead me away from disobedient thinking.
Deep and wonderful God,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
