At Jesus' Feet

Saturday, ‎March ‎18, ‎2023

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.—Hebrews 13:17

Memory of the Month: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Today's reading: DEUTERONOMY 32-34 MARK 15:26-47

At Jesus' Feet

It is recorded in Luke 17. Jesus healed 10 lepers and only one came back to give thanks. Jesus asked 2 questions for which He knew the answer,

"Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?(Luke 17:17)

Jesus knew where the other nine went but never mentioned them again. He only spoke of the one who did the right thing. But what about the other nine? Do you think Jesus judged them the way we would in this world?

The scritpure says, "not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."(2 Peter 3:9)

Time spent in judgment in anger is wasted. We must be thankful for what the Holy Spirit does around us while we keep seeking Him. We must depend on the Lord to accomplish, give Him the glory, and be thankful-even to the point of throwing ourselves at the Master's feet? Yes, throwing ourselves at the Master's feet is a great place to start-but-it is where we should live with reference to our own egos. The Lord's place is always above us. There is no time when our ego should raise us above the level of being at Jesus' feet-no time-no accomplishment-nothing can be any higher than the feet of our Lord.

15 "One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him."(Luke 17)

It is hard for some to imagine such a thing-but nine of the ten walked away that day- what will you do right this minute?

We have all been made clean by the will of our almighty God through the blood of Jesus Christ. We have all been made whole-just like that one leper.

No matter where we are in our spiritual growth, we will never outgrow this:

"Be joyful always, pray without ceasing, and in everything give thanks".(1 Thessalonians 5:16&17)

We will never outgrow the need to be at the feet of Jesus. Jesus does not have to ask where we are-He knows. Is He pleased with your position?

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for not being thankful-for not being where you want me to be.

Keep in my heart an attitude of thanks and humility always. Make humility my comfort zone so I may always be comfortable at Your feet.

Great God of peace and humility.

Because of Christ Jesus we pray,

Amen
