Accept The Truth

Good Morning, Lord
Verse of the Day: 2 Corinthians 3:6
who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
Memory verse: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
Today's reading: JEREMIAH 34-36 HEBREWS 2
Accept The Help
Growing up after the second world war was an odd time. There was so much progress and growth from the financial and industrial areas that traditions and customs were lost.
Folks left the farm and emptied small communities and closed local businesses and churches.
But in all of this people remained the same. The pride of a poor man who would rather go hungry than admit he needed the help is still alive and well. On the other hand, soup lines have turned into entire sub-cultures whose pride(entitlement) demands more and more.
The mind of man still buys into the lie of self-sufficiency-down deep people trust only themselves. The 'answer is within' culture is booming.
The truth of scripture will never change:
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.
Today in Hebrews 2 we read: 15 Jesus became like these people and died so that he could free them. 17 For this reason, Jesus had to be made like us, his brothers and sisters, in every way. He became like people so that he could be their merciful and faithful high priest in service to God. Then he could bring forgiveness for the people’s sins. 18 And now he can help those who are tempted. He is able to help because he himself suffered and was tempted.
Jesus is able to help and His help is perfect but it will never happen until people admit they need the help and are willing to accept the help.
Nehemiah 9:29 says, "...And they turned a stubborn shoulder and stiffened their neck, and would not listen."
Proverbs 29:1 A man who hardens his neck after much reproof Will suddenly be broken beyond remedy.
Jeremiah 7:25-26
"Yet they did not listen to Me or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck; they did more evil than their fathers."
Accept the help. That is all there is to it. Accept the help. How long can this go on?
We only have one lifetime. Humble yourself before God and let Him heal your heart.
Accept the help...
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
Forgive my stiff-necked reluctance to Your Lordship. Show me how to live in Your freedom all the time.
Merciful and tender God,
In the name of Jesus,
Amen
