Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Jeremiah 15:19 ESV
Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”
Verse of the day: John 6:29
29 Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
Daily reading: Psalm 123-125 1 Corinthians 10:1-18
About Tolerance
We explored, shortly, hate in the scripture. The reason is today’s 'culture-call' for tolerance of all views. The Holy Scripture I read will always call sin ‘sin’.
We have such fear of offending some ‘alternate’ group and coming under their fire that tolerance has become the norm. You may not think this is the ‘leaven of the Pharisees’-following the law to the letter(Matthew 6:16). The ‘leaven’ corrupted the truth. Tolerance of sin is a blatant corruption of the truth. It creeps in and says, “That is none of my business”. Tolerance says, “What we don’t know will not hurt us”. But whom else does it corrupt or destroy?
Tolerance once said to Judas, “Nobody will miss a little money from the group’s purse”.
We can always rationalize to compromise if we use our carnal minds-and there it is.
Jesus taught us that tolerance of sin is the opposite of love-it condones that which destroys. Our tolerance says we hate to be rejected or lose our status more than we love to glorify God and live in His purity. Evil destroys, so, to tolerate evil rather than hating it makes those who tolerate evil partners in destruction.
Loving our enemies or anyone embracing evil is still our focus. Jesus came to abolish destruction and defeat evil.
Jesus said in Luke 19:10, “The son of man has come to seek and save that which was lost”.(to save those doomed for destruction)
Is there a place for tolerance in our life of faith? Yes. Paul taught us in Romans 14:1 “Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on his opinions.”
The Spirit grows us in our faith. If some part of today’s words bother you, take it to the Lord. Arguing will bring no wisdom. God instills wisdom to those who seek Him.
James 1:5 “Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”
...because He loves you, He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Your name is all wisdom. Give me Your divine consciousness of Your kingdom. I need greater desire to do Your will. Give me what You know I will need today. Forgive me for sinful compromising. Lead me away from evil.
Great God of creating,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
