Wages of Sin
Wednesday, November 11, 2020 Good Morning, Lord V.O.D.: Luke 1:78,79 because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the Dawn will visit us from on high, 79to shine on those who live in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace. M.O.M.: The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.—Romans 13:12 Today's reading: Jeremiah 51-52 Hebrews 9
The Wages of Sin
I listened to the young woman who told me her story of how she grew 'up in the system' and how her father was to blame for all the sadness and tragedy in her life. She was not happy when I told her she would have to forgive him if she ever wanted freedom. (People hang on to hate because of the power hate lets them feel.) I tried to tell her of God's love but she maintained her 'agnostic' stance.
Sadly, there is a world out there that runs on hate. It remains our mission to shine God's light on that hate with His endless love that endures forever. There are those who hate justice and truth: Amos 5:10 ►There are those who hate the one who upholds justice in court and detest the one who tells the truth. There are those who hate the Lord's light: John 3:20 For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. There are those who hate God: Proverbs 8:36 “But he who sins against me injures himself; All those who hate me love death.”
We must remember that we were once like they are:Titus 3:3 For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.
We must search our own hearts and face the truth if we hold on to hate for someone in our lives. Stop lying to ourselves and see the truth. Matthew 6:15 ►But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
This is a dark thought to start a morning with, though the truth, it is dark. The reason is that so many are floundering in hate. It must be called what it is. If we do not forgive someone, we have hate. Not forgiving someone will destroy one from the inside out.
An unforgiving spirit is a broken spirit. PROVERBS 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine, but a broken spirit drieth the bones. Our hearts cannot be free if we do not forgive. This is a miserable state.
There is always good news for the truthful and humble heart. God will forgive us if we forgive and will fill us with His light and peace as He teaches us how to love the 'unlovable'. Luke 1:79...because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the Dawn will visit us from on high, 79 to shine on those who live in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.
Peace. Forgiveness. Unconditional love. Some in the deceived world will see in us what they are missing if we are obedient to the Divine love in our hearts and live a life of humility and forgiveness.
Get in front of God. Pour out your heart. Tell Him the truth. He will forgive and never, ever bring it up again. He chooses to never remember our sin.
We serve a God of tender mercies who loves all and wants peace and joy in Him for all.
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven, Help me forgive and turn loose of the hate. I want You to be first in my life. Merciful Father and forgiving God, In the name of Jesus, Amen
