Know Why You Are Here

Tuesday, ‎July ‎14, ‎2020 Good morning, Lord V.O.D.: John 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. M.O.M.: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27 Today's reading: Psalm 13-15 Acts 19:21-41

Know Why You Are Here

Acts 19 tells of a mob that gathered in a place led by men who were business men who were against Paul and the 'new' Christian movement called 'The Way'. But the scripture makes this statement: (verse 32)"Now some cried out one thing, some another, for the assembly was in confusion, and most of them did not know why they had come together.

We look to the people on the street in riots on TV and some of us really wonder why they are there. We hear what their leaders give as reason to march but many give varied reasons. They get caught up in the frenzy that books have been written on over the ages. Their basic causes are just causes but most people cannot give good reason why they are there.

Thought-what someone thinks deep in their hearts-cannot be legislated. Laws cannot change minds and hearts. If that were possible, there would have been no need for Jesus to die. Laws would have taken seed in the heart of man and man would have behaved sinlessly, thereby, saving the soul of man. That did not happen and never will.

Some will embrace the truth and some will not. Mob mentality will only reinforce the beliefs of those offended by it. And as we have seen over the decades, it breeds racism where it did not exist.

All of that must be a matter of prayer for us. The evil and the wickedness in the world and of the enemy is planned propagation. The enemy has all sorts of plans to confuse and depress both sides. It is all spiritual attack.

All we need is Jesus. All the marchers need is Jesus. That is to a lot of folks a great over-simplification but it is still the truth. Dr. King knew it and spoke Jesus everywhere He went.

All we need is Jesus. We need Jesus all over. The mind of Christ is so foreign to the world and so few believers are used by the mind of Christ.

We worry and fret. Jesus said not to worry. Matthew 6:25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life..."

He told us to worship in spirit and truth. John 4:24 "God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth."

It is hard for me to love those who seem to run the streets driven by nothing but destruction but then have they really seen the opposite from us? (The opposite being our living Jesus in front of them)

We must pray for great strong leaders who lead with the mind of Christ and with the words of Jesus while we pray for the courage to live and speak Jesus to all of our areas of life.

Why are we here? Before we judge the folks who march for not having a real reason for being there, do we really know what our reason is? Jesus said right there in Matthew 6: 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

In our daily reading we read what King David said in Psalm 15:1 O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill? 2 He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart; 3 who does not slander with his tongue.

Why are we here? To seek God and His kingdom and walk blamelessly, speak truth, and not slander.

...To walk as Jesus walked...1 John 2:6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven, I confess I see the hate and not the hearts and judge quickly. Have mercy on me and forgive me as I forgive and lead me to walk as Jesus walked. Merciful and mighty God, In the name of Jesus, Amen
