Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Ephesians 2:6 “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”
Verse of the day: Colossians 4:5-6
5 “Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. 6 Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.”
Daily Reading: 2 Kings 4-6 Luke 24:36-53
Your Soul’s Capacity
How much can you ‘hold’ in your own soul? How big is the reservoir of your soul? What can it hold? What does it actually need to hold?
I don’t know if I had ever thought of these questions together before but the Bible has answers.
We know the soul can be worn down, depressed, hurt, etc. but the Bible says:
“He restores my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.” – Psalms 23:3
He guides us in His righteous paths so we can find His ways of soul restoration so He receives the glory.
“Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’” – Matthew 22:37
Our souls hold as much love and we allow-as much as we are willing to absorb from Him and for Him. It is commanded that we open up and give all the space in our souls to loving God. In this is our capacity to really love our enemies(Matthew 5:43-48)
There is no place in our souls for things of the world-our souls are not made that way. What we gain of the world is totally separate from our souls does for our souls nothing.(Mark 8:36)
After we have chased the world in sin, there is forgiveness and rest in God in Christ Jesus.
28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
The answer to all the original questions is, ‘only God knows and He has told us’.
Matthew 22:37- “Jesus replied: “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
Matthew 6:33- “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Love God with all you are and seek Him above all else-God will take care of your soul in Christ.
...because He loves us...He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Hallow-I want to hallow Your name as You say and I want to know Your kingdom. Give me what I need today to grow in You. Forgive me for letting my mind get off of You. Lead me away from worthless thinking.
God of soul restoration,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
