Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Joshua 1:9
9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Verse of the day-Psalm 62:7
7 On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
Today’s reading: Judges 1-3 Luke 4:1-30
Young Thoughts
When I was young, there developed a feeling inside that I could not quite define. It was a feeling that something was going to happen in my life that would change everything and I would know true happiness and fulfillment. Some folks equate this feeling to ‘waiting for my ship to come in’.
Some found this feeling in preparing for retirement-security. Some found it in success along the way. Some searched and searched and never found anything but more desire.
Some found the real answer.
The Psalmist wrote in (Psalm 119:18) ,“Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law”
Then, in the same Psalm, the writer said, “How sweet are your words to my taste” (Psalm 119:103)
He asked God, God supplied. But we cannot stop there. The Psalmist asked for wondrous things in God’s law and when God blessed him with ‘wondrous things’, he was satisfied deep in his soul with ‘sweet words to his taste’.
How many of us have read something today that was sweet to the taste of our hearts? Men have a hard time actually saying words like that or asking for it. Women have an easier time but the point is that all of us ‘can’ taste how sweet God’s word is if:
1. We ask for it
2. Meditate on God’s word. Read and study God’s word.
The more time we spend studying and asking God to open up His word for us, the more we will want because it is so ‘sweet’ and it gets deeper.
If you still have that feeling that something new is right around the corner, that’s because it is. The corner is a choice for you. It is getting in God’s word and asking him in humility and faith to ask, “Open my eyes that I may taste the great things in Your word.”
...because He loves you, He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Your name is above all in this world. Your will be done in my heart as in Heaven. Give me what You know I need for today. Forgive me my negativity to study. Lead me away from evil.
God of all joy,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
