Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name...
Verse of the Day: Psalm 19:14
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Memory verse: Psalm 42:2(New American Bible )
"My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When can I enter and see the face of God?"
Today's reading: Isaiah 50-52 1 Thessalonians 5
Words and Meditations
If we all were to pray Psalm 19:14, we would have to have a motive for praying it. What do I mean?
We must have a desire to be pleasing to God with all we say and all we do. Think about this...
Everything you say-do you really want everything you say to be pleasing to God? If you do, how much of your present speech are you willing to abandon? The way you talk about politicians or the way you talk about your neighbors-or the way you talk about the 'folks on the other side'-how much of your speech is pleasing to the Lord now? How much are you willing to change to please God?
The meditations of your heart are not different. It is, after all, the place where your words have their beginning. But your meditations may be worse than what you speak.
The point is, do you really want what you think and say to be acceptable-which means pleasing-to God?
Are you willing to do what it takes-from your side-to facilitate this?
Luke 9:23 take up your cross daily?
1 Thessalonians 5:16,17,18; Matthew 22:37-40 and on and on.
Are you willing to remain conscious? Are you willing to stay awake in the Spirit of God?
Relax in His peace. Repent if you need it. God wants you to start right where you are. He does not want to kick you around to get you worthy. He wants to look into your face and heart and love you.
Give God all of you and God will do the rest.
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
You are ultimately greater than my thinking or my words. I ask that you make my desire great to do Your kingdom will. Give me Your bread for Your glory. Forgive me for not pouring my heart into loving You. Increase my faith.
Patient God of all wisdom and power
In the name of Jesus Christ,
Amen
