Why Would We ?

Why Would We?
Isaiah 55:“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.2 Why spend money on that which is not bread, and your labor on that which does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of foods. 3Incline your ear and come to Me; listen, so that your soul may live.
Why would a person physically and mentally work so hard all their lives for things that just leave them wanting more?
This not just a question for the lost of the world, it is a question also for those who have accepted Christ as Lord. How could I say that?
The vast majority of the New Testament is instructions to believers on how to grow in Christ and avoid sin while learning how to live a sacrificial life in worship. God inspired His writers to show us how to be full of joy while He transforms us into the image of Christ.
God knows how great our inner conflicts are and the war that rages within us-the war for our desires-a war raged by the enemy to confuse and stop our discovering the joy of a real sacrificial life of worship-a war for our conscious thought.
A mind not committed to consciously living in the Holy Spirit is a mind that has a hard time worshiping either privately or corporately.
This is a point that cannot be stressed enough. This is the labor that will bring real and present and lasting joy. This is how we learn to buy and eat the ‘richest foods without money and price’. This is the abundant life of Christ Jesus.
Go to God and tell Him you want to know what He knows you do not. Commit your mind and your heart will be full of Him.
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
I want to desire to hallow Your name above all. Let me see into Your kingdom and learn to desire obedience. Give me wisdom for today and forgive me my mindlessness. Lead me away from earthly desires.
Great Father of righteousness consciousness,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
