Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Joshua 1:9
9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Verse of the day-Isaiah 53:6 “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
Today’s reading: 1 Samuel 27-29 Luke 13:1-22
Why Hallow His Name?
Matthew 6:9-”Pray, then, like this: Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be Your name.”
Why did Jesus pray this first? The most important thing to God is that His name be above all else in this existence. Why?
It is a shame we have to ask such a question. It is a shame that the world uses God’s name mostly in vain-this is mankind’s shame.
In the air of Heaven, there is only God’s glory. It is complete bliss and peace forever because and only because of Him.
God wants us to know this peace while we walk on this earth and that is the reason, I believe, for this verse:
Romans 8:32- “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”
‘Give us all things’ for what? God gives us all things we need in this life to know Him and love Him and live in His peace and joy in Christ Jesus so the world will see how holy God and righteous God is and how He fulfills our lives.
To esteem, admire, respect, cherish, honor and praise God above all else is evangelism in its purest form. This is the ‘hope’ the world can and will see in us if we love God with all our life.
1 Peter 3:15-”but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.”
‘To make a defense’ means for us to be ready with God’s reasoning to explain the joy in us in honoring God.
Yes, hallow God’s name. Tell God you want the desire to honor fully His name in you life.
...because He loves you, He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Teach me respect-real honor for Your name so I may be full of Your joy and obey as in Your kingdom in Heaven. Give me today what You know I need. Forgive me for not honoring You. Lead me away from this shame.
Most high God,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
