Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)

I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Verse of the day: Luke 2:28-32

28 he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said, 29 “Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word; 30 for my eyes have seen your salvation 31 that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, 32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.”

Today’s reading: Haggai 1-2 Revelation 17

Enjoying What We have In Christ

Why do we always have to have more? What must we remodel every 7 years? What is enough not enough?

The answer is sin living in us and sin destroys our peace.

Jesus came to destroy the hold that sin living in us has on us.

1 John 3:8 (ESV)

8 “Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.”

Psalm 119: 164 “Seven times a day I praise You for Your righteous judgments. 165 Abundant peace belongs to those who love Your law; nothing can make them stumble.…”

Hebrews 8:10 “I will put my laws into their minds,    and write them on their hearts,”

Biblical fact: Abundant peace belongs to those who love what God has written on our hearts.

Implication: No peace is found by those who ignore what God has written on our hearts. Sin rules a ‘peace-less’ heart or the heart that ignores the truth.

For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world — to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice” (John 18:37).

Solution: Consistent returning.

Jeremiah 15:19

Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”

7 times a day’-this tells us that consistently returning to God must be cultivated. 7 times a day may not be enough for you or me, but we must consider making a schedule. In practicing this discipline, the truth written on our hearts becomes a thriving reality-without a disciplined approach, peace is distant. In other words, if we don’t seek peace in God(where it can only be found)we will not know real peace.

When we are determined to know all that God has for us, it is manifested in a disciplined lifestyle. The more we seek God in Christ, the more we love His laws that we discover written on our hearts.

It is time for a face to face with Christ Jesus. Tell Him you want to love His law written your heart and ask Him to give you determination and desire to be disciplined.

...because He loves us, He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Fill me with desire to hallow Your name and to honor Your name in Your kingdom. Give me more and more desire to love Your laws written on my heart. Forgive me my weak faith. Lead me away from evil.

Great God of Heaven’s armies,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen

ree
