20 “For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

What Caesar Demands

Jesus told us to render to Caesar(for us this is our country) that which is Caesar’s and to God that which is God’s. But what happens if our country asks something that is spiritually wrong?

Caesar wanted to be worshiped as a God. Our country has never told us to worship it. But when we pledge allegiance to the flag, we must remember that we pledge to a power that is under our God-He is our first and highest allegiance.

But there are things that our country tells us to accept-alternate lifestyles for example-that go against scripture. We do not have to accept what the Bible calls sin and we will not if we are faithful. It took 50 years of prayer to make a change in abortion laws. This is God saying to us to never give up.

What God commands takes precedence over what the country legislates. This statement is not a license to break laws. It is our right to be righteous in God’s eyes.

At this point in history, our country remains sympathetic to our way of worship. But what Jesus tells us is to be ready and prepared for what can happen if we don’t do what He leads us to do-share the message of Jesus in His love throughout our culture.

Matthew 9:38

38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

...because He loves us...He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Your name is above all powers. Your kingdom come and Your will be done in my heart. Give me the will today to place You above all else I know. Forgive me for yielding my allegiance-You are my God. Lead me away from evil.
