Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Joshua 1:9
9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Verses of the day- Colossians 3:12
12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience,
Today’s reading: Deuteronomy 28-29 Mark 14:54-72
The Wells
Acts 4:12-”Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
There is only one way to be saved-only in Christ Jesus. Then why do we read this(?): Isaiah 12:3 (ESV)
3 “With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.”
Wells is plural-more than one.
When the fire department shows up to a fire in the city, there is a fire hydrant close-by. You may have several faucets in your own yard. We have water when we need it.
The 23rd Psalm says, “He leads me in paths of righteousness for His namesake”.
In our lives following God as He leads for His Kingdom’s purposes, God supplies what we need when we need it. John 7:38 says, “Whoever believes in me... ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
Wells and rivers from one source-this is our God-whatever-whenever we need, the Holy Spirit delivers. The divine difference is that we, unlike the fire department, do not have to look for the hydrant or faucet or well or river. He is with us and will not make us search.
What we must do is learn to wait and not trust our own instincts or resourcefulness.
As a boy roaming through the woods at home, I came across an old homestead site on the bank of the big creek. Only the old well remained with its brick rising above the ground. What I noticed was water running through he bricks. Nearly a hundred years and the water was still running out of the well.
No matter how long we live or what we go through-as long as we honor Him-God flows His grace and mercy and love through His wells and rivers in our lives.
Honor God in Christ Jesus and never thirst-
...because He loves us…
Father in Heaven,
Our source to never thirst, I honor Your name, and Your kingdom. Give me the wisdom to follow and obey. Forgive me for losing consciousness of You. Lead me away from my sin of mindlessness.
Gracious and living God,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
