Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. Build my trust. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name...
Verse of the Day: Colossians 1:9
9 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.
Memory verse: Psalm 42:2(New American Bible )
"My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When can I enter and see the face of God?"
Today's reading: Lamentations 1-2 Hebrews 10:1-18
Walking by Faith
2 Corinthians 5:7 (ESV)
7 "...for we walk by faith, not by sight."
We have, literally, miles of walking track here in Kerrville, Texas. You can walk by the river on both sides and see God's fingerprints on the giant cypress trees and on the eyelashes of the whitetail deer. You can see the ruts cut by centuries of water in the limestone river bottom where generations of native Americans walked. It is such a great place to walk and think or pray...but not all can walk. For some, walking is too painful or impossible.
It is hard for me to understand, but some just cannot walk by faith. But for us believers, we must know the difference.
The world walks by sight.
We must walk by faith. In the New Testament, the opposite of faith is unbelief or rejecting the truth. In the New Testament, faith is believing-believing is knowing.
God wants us to know and not live in doubt.
Paul wrote: “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak, 14 knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence."(2 Corinthians 4:13–14)
"For I want you to know...2 that their hearts may be encouraged"(Colossians 2:1–2 )(Also: John 5:13; Ephesians 1:18)
God inspired words so that we would know-be certain about the hope within us-the hope that does not die
Romans 5:5 ►"And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."
By faith, we see-what we see in this earth cannot be trusted for peace, happiness or life.
The age and condition of my legs due to abuse in sports and work, make it very evident to me that I cannot trust what I walk on, or, what is in my sight-created things.
When you get down to 'it', the only thing we can trust is God in us-Jesus with us-the Holy Spirit.
Galatians 5:16 ►"So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not(trust what you see) gratify the desires of the flesh."
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
You name is above all other names. Help me see Your kingdom's glory. Give me bread to know Your will today. Lead me away from seeing the world.
God of honor and truth,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
