Understanding

Understanding the abundant life that God gives the born-again in Christ does not come naturally. It does not come with a degree from the seminary-even one with perfect grades. Understanding of God's will and purpose for our lives does not come from going through courses in Bible study or being part of a mainline religion.

Our first clue that someone does not have all the answers is that they say they have all the answers and if you follow 'their' way, you will have all you need. I believe that many believe they have all the answers for each individual and I also believe they are wrong.

How or why do I make such a claim? Let's start with Jesus. He has all the answers. The Holy spirit has all the answers. Our Father in Heaven has all the answers-end of list.

Jesus said, "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you." John 14:26

God's personal presence has all the answers for you-for you and me deep in our heart of hearts-deep inside where God meets us and where we cannot be anything but naked in front of Him. In front of God we can not pretend to be something we are not-all pretense is wiped away.

Remember how Jesus would go off to 'lonely' places to pray?

Luke 5:16 ►But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

We only have a few of those times recorded. Why don't we have every word of every prayer of Jesus recorded? Seems to me, that would be a good thing, but, God wants us to see how important it is to find out what being in His presence means to each of us personally. He wants us to be curious enough, dedicated enough, humble enough, and completely truthful to meet with Him. God wants us to come to Him without fear and guilt. He wants us to relax in front of Him. He wants us to keep coming back to talk.

Think about it. What do you want from time you spend with someone you love enough to do anything for? We are made in God's image. We want those we love unconditionally to be at peace and to feel welcome when around us. We don't want them to feel any judgement or guilt. God is the same with us.

The point is that we have absolutely no reason to not feel all those things in God's presence.

1 John 3: 19And by this we will know that we belong to the truth, and will assure our hearts in His presence: 20Even if our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts, and He knows all things. 21Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God,…

He knows all things and is greater than the guilt we carry.

Whatever it is, confess it and time with God is precious. He has all the answers we need.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me when I hold on to guilt and fill me with that assurance that You want me to have when we meet face to face.

Merciful and long suffering God,

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
