Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Jeremiah 15:19 ESV
Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”
Verse of the day: Psalm 116:1-2
116 “I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy.2 Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.”
Daily reading: Psalm 116-118 1 Corinthians 7:1-19
Truth Is Love, Love Is Truth
Jesus said, “For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth” (John 18:37)
Pilate asked, “What is Truth?”(John 18:37,38)
Jesus’ enemies knew Jesus was dedicated to the truth. “Teacher, we know that you are true and do not care about anyone’s opinion” (Mark 12:14)
As He was about to leave for Heaven, Jesus said, “But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me” (John 15:26).
When someone does not accept our message, we do not change the message. We pray that their hearts will hear the truth. “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free (John 8:32) “Sanctify them in the truth,” Jesus prayed; “your word is truth” (John 17:17).
What else could truth be but Love? Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life-no man comes to the Father but by me 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well.”
The world will always ask, “What is truth?” because the only way to know God’s truth is to know His love in Christ-which the world rejects.
The only way the world will ever know God’s love is in and through our lives. So, as with Jesus, we must never try to ‘make our message acceptable’ by watering it down but show His strength in us by never wavering in His message.
Here it is again-when our message is laughed at or scorned, it is not about our feelings-it is about God’s love for the lost soul and how we see their painful soul that Jesus died for.
Pilate asked, “What is truth?” Jesus’ answer was to die for His love of mankind.
This means for us that we seek to feel that same love by the Spirit of Truth in us as we grow deeper in love with Him.
Tell God you want to know the intensity of His love for the lost.
...because He loves us, He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Your name is all truth in Love. Your kingdom I seek. Your will is my goal. Give me today, right now, what I need. Forgive me for not seeking Your intensity. Lead me away from disbelief.
Father of all,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
