Memory verse: 1 John 1:8–9

8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the 

truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all 

unrighteousness.

Verse of the day- Isaiah 41:10 "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Today’s reading: Psalm 26-28 Acts 22

Treasure Me

Jesus sees a rich man who asked what he must do to have eternal life. Jesus knows his heart and says to keep the commandments. Then in Mark 10:

20And he said to him, “Teacher, all these I have kept from my youth.” 21And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”

Jesus knew what the young man’s treasure was and went straight to his heart. He said, “You lack one thing”...

“Treasure me”.

The young man lacked one thing in being perfect-in the same scene in Matthew 19:21, Jesus says, “...if you would be perfect, go sell out...follow me.”

We must understand that Jesus is our treasure in Heaven and we must treasure Him here-above all else.

“Sell your treasure and treasure me.” No, the Bible does not put it in these words but that is what Jesus is saying.

So, do we treasure Jesus the way He wants? He would not say this if God had not provided for us to do it. So we must ask and search.

Here it is again: 33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”(Matthew 6:33)

Tell God that you really don’t treasure Christ Jesus the way you read in scripture but you want to be in that place. You want to be the person who really treasures Christ here and now.

...because He loves us…He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Treasured be Your name. Your kingdom come. Build my desire to do Your will. Show me a way today to treasure You-one step at a time. Forgive me for holding on to earthly things. Lead me away from idolatry.

Holy and mighty God,
